Orange Julius Smoothie
Halloween is tomorrow and gone are the days of getting my littles dressed up and wandering the neighborhood with them. They have plans with their friends, there are parties, different neighborhoods, and no parents to spoil their night.
Before they head out we’re having these smoothies because they are so freaking good. I remember being their age, at the mall, and drinking Orange Julius like it was my job. My kids will eat enough candy and salty snacks tomorrow night, so giving them something that will keep them full and fueled during trick-or-treating is essential. With citrus coming into season right now it’s the perfect balance of oranges & vanilla to get that classic Orange Julius flavor. And, it’s Dad approved; he came back for more!
Ingredients:
2 naval oranges; I supremed mine, but you don’t have to. Cut into fourths after peeling
2/3 C soy milk (or your milk of choice)
1/2 C orange juice
1/2 C plain Greek yogurt (you could use vanilla too, just use less vanilla extract)
1 1/4 tsp vanilla extract (use 1 tsp if using vanilla yogurt)
1 scoop Earth Chimp Vanilla Protein Powder
Method:
In a high-powered blender (I love my Vitamix) add all ingredients and blend one minute until smooth. Pour into glasses and enjoy! Makes about 2.5 smoothies.
